Day 39 Darkness || Priestess ACIM Lesson
I was thinking the other day about how important it is for us to mourn the loss of something.
Yes we cannot dwell, but we also cannot decide to just skip on through to the next thing. The things, jobs, and people that we lose in life can truly take a toll on our spirit, I find especially when we do not reflect, honor and commemorate the person, place or thing in question.
There is grace in honoring what we had and shared and what we lost. There must be a way where we can continue moving forward and being happy humans but also being mindful and empathetic for ourselves. Not skipping over the juicy endings that hold so much wisdom, joy and yes pain when reflected upon!
Oh little tangent there, but I would just love to say in short;
may we be the kind of people that when we lose a business, a brother or a beloved pet that we take the time to feel
….all of the feels and honor the time, money and energy we invested. This in no way dictates our worth or value in society but it sure as hell is a part of our story and deserves to be highlighted in our minds and then surrendered to the great unknown for further healing that can only be described best as a miracle.
Day 39 of my 40 day commitment to studying A Course in Miracles took my back to Chapter 1 “The Escape from Darkeness”. Wow I can’t believe this is the second to last day, I hardly want it to end!
The escape from darkness involves two stages: First, the recognition that darkness cannot hide. This step usually entails fear. Second, the recognition that there is nothing you want to hide even if you could. This step brings escape from fear.
-A Course in Miracles
The miracle sets reality where it belongs. Reality belongs only to spirit, and the miracle acknowledges only truth. It thus dispels illusions about yourself, and puts you in communion with yourself and God.
-A Course in Miracles
The miracle joins in the Atonement by placing the mind in the service of the Holy Spirit. This establishes the proper function of the mind…
-A Course in Miracles
If a mind perceives without love, it perceives an empty shell and is unaware of the spirit within. But the Atonement restores spirit to its proper place. The mind that serves spirit is invulnerable.
-A Course in Miracles
Darkness is lack of light as sin is lack of love.
-A Course in Miracles
Truth is always abundant. Those who perceive and acknowledge that they have everything have no needs of any kind.
-A Course in Miracles
The purpose of the Atonement is to restore everything to you; or rather, to restore it to your awareness.
-A Course in Miracles
The emptiness engendered by fear must be replaced by forgiveness.
